Where Art Hides
Some more shots of the Cape Ann Tool Company, can you tell how much I loved this place? It’s not often you get to roam around an abandoned building.
So I’m already thinking about what I want to do in regards to my photography for 2010. I want to focus on experience more than anything, I feel I have a long way to go but I’m excited about the journey. I’m trying to setup a “Portrait Party” with some girlfriends to get some portrait experience. I also am going to try to find a mentor, I figure their hiding under rocks somewhere.

Those are some wonderful goals. Bravo to you for articulating them — and break a leg! (I say that because in the music world one would never wish another musician good luck — that’s bad luck. It might be the same for all artists. I’m not sure. And your photography definitely qualifies as art, so why risk it?)
I really like that second shot.

@Meredith, thank you and I appreciate the luck in any form.

I need a portrait mentor too – some of mine are okay but not “great” or particularly creative.
I love these shots – especially the second one.

@charlane, too bad we can’t work together, I wish more of my photog buddies lived nearby.

Awesome that you’ve already set photography goals for next year! I love the creepy feeling of abandoned buildings. There’s something thrilling about being somewhere you shouldn’t.

@Barb, I think it’s how raw they are and all the detail. I love to see beneath the surface, see what normally you never get to see.

I particularly like that bottom image. The window panes are so colorful.
