About Accidental Beauty Photography

I am a child, family, pets, couple and wedding photographer. Photography is a passion for me, I cannot ever imagine not capturing pieces of the world with my camera. More than anything I love bringing out personalities and making them memories.

Diptych Take One

Starting so far all of my projects are on schedule.

1. Portrait Party – I don’t think I’ve gone into this one yet, I will.

2. Project 365 – Take a picture everyday for an entire year.

3. Diptych Project – Myself and another person will take a picture using a chosen theme every week and pair them together.

Shannon came to me with this project and that she wanted to do it with me, I was flattered. Her first thought of someone to pair her photos with was me =) I’ve actually wanted to do a project like this for a long time and it just hadn’t formed into anything.

I’ve been doing diptyches from time to time over the past year or so, I don’t know what it is about pairing two different photos that compliment each other together. It’s like I create something by taking a photo, then they create something and then together we create something else. It’s like we’re having a baby together, a photo baby. Awwww.

So every Wednesday we’ll have a theme and on each of our sites we’ll post the diptych. This week was orange. Shannon chose the creative shot while I went with the obvious fruit. I think it’s pretty cool though that they go so well together unlike say an orange and a traffic cone.

If you want to see more of these go to my Diptych Project.

    Cool! Nice to have a partner to keep you going in a project, right?

    ahh shit. I didn’t know this was gonna involve babies! I want full custody, – you get them when they are crying and poopy. Also, I will require 29,385 chocolate coins a week in child support.

    they do look pretty nice together!

    Cool projects. I’ve thought about doing a diptych-type project before. One thought was like your project, another was to do a “blind” diptych with another person where you shoot something and just give the other person one word (like an emotion, color, etc.) and that person shoots their interpretation of that word without seeing what you actually shot. Or come up with a list of words and you each shoot your interpretation and just join up photos later.

    @bluepaintred, Damn, that is way more than I bargained for…

    Very nice! I also like that you’ve chosen the more traditional diptych layout. I thought about that, but decided to follow Miss Grace’s lead. At least until some week when sends me a portrait shot, at which point I’d probably convert mine to portrait as well. :-)

    What an awesome idea! I love it! I want to do it, now… Will have to think awhile about this – find someone willing to stretch in that way. Wonder if DH would be interested or someone like that in my life…

    I’m working from home today & was just explaining it to Annie… She wants to do it with me :-) This should be interesting – thanks for the great idea (everyone!). I’ll give you the link once I set up a blog – new pic on Thurs every week.

    @Otto K., ours is basically the blind kind because I have no idea what she will take a picture of other than it being orange.

    @Miss Grace, thanks!

    @Ren, I love how they look as kind of one picture.

    @Maureen, go for it!
