About Accidental Beauty Photography

I am a child, family, pets, couple and wedding photographer. Photography is a passion for me, I cannot ever imagine not capturing pieces of the world with my camera. More than anything I love bringing out personalities and making them memories.

Portrait Sessions Available

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Since I am spending this year building my portfolio I want to take on portrait sessions whenever I can (when I’m not working my day job). So I am taking on clients when I can fit it in, mostly families, pets, individuals and couples. If you are interested and would like to know about my Portfolio Rates please contact me since I have some available time in June and July.

Scouting

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Now that I have a couple new sessions coming up I need to figure out locations for them when I don’t really have the extra time to scout. I think it’s time I get creative with google maps and flickr. I have the next 4 days off so I may not be on here much but I will be testing a lot of techniques on my time off.

New Logo

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Two main things in the past week.

1. The amazing photographer Michelle gave me some big pointers that have helped me immensely with my photos. Other than the fact the dog here, Stella, is in too much light I got the settings to a place where I feel my shot came more alive than usual.

2. I made myself a new logo for the time being out of a tree photo of mine. I’m using it in the picture above, what do you think?

Fantastic

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

This stuff makes my week.

From my friend Iris:

Went out for dinner last night with two friends of mine – first comments from both of them were about the pictures – I believe the quote, about you was ‘she’s fantastic’.

My E-shoot Lessons

piggback

As always, I learned a lot from my first engagement shoot but then everything in life is a constant state of learning. Here is what I came away with.

  • Double check everything before you leave. Even double check your memory discs, which I didn’t. Not only did I not bring any extra but normally I use a 4GB disc and this time I only had a 1GB so I ran out at one point. Luckily we were in Boston so this was easy to fix.
  • Write down ideas and bring them with you, just in case you get stuck.
  • Dress comfortably.
  • Stay hydrated at all times.
  • If you are using a new lens, test it out at least a week beforehand so you know all it’s tricks.
