Just Hanging Out

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I had the most beautiful weekend. I went out with my photographer friend Leslie on Friday, she gave me some tips for my external flash. On Saturday I went out scouting locations with my husband and found one for the family session I have in 2 weeks. On Sunday we met up with my parents to go to The Butterfly Place in Westford, MA and of course, butterfly pictures to come. Then we had the day in on Monday, just doing things around the house. We also went for a couple bike rides, getting ourselves out of the winter slump finally.

I can honestly say, I’m wonderfully rested.

Portrait Sessions Available

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Since I am spending this year building my portfolio I want to take on portrait sessions whenever I can (when I’m not working my day job). So I am taking on clients when I can fit it in, mostly families, pets, individuals and couples. If you are interested and would like to know about my Portfolio Rates please contact me since I have some available time in June and July.

New Logo

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Two main things in the past week.

1. The amazing photographer Michelle gave me some big pointers that have helped me immensely with my photos. Other than the fact the dog here, Stella, is in too much light I got the settings to a place where I feel my shot came more alive than usual.

2. I made myself a new logo for the time being out of a tree photo of mine. I’m using it in the picture above, what do you think?

My Next Steps

Friday, March 26th, 2010

So I want to share with everyone some great upcoming events for me in my journey of photography. I have some photo shoots I am doing for friends and it’s all for my portfolio because I feel I still have a long way to go. I don’t know if this is anything I could ever take on aggressively unless I could change my work situation.

I will be doing a family photo shoot for my friend Melissa on April 24th but location isn’t set yet but I have an idea. My friend reached out to me on my Facebook Fan Page saying she would love to have me take pictures of her family. I’m excited and in planning mode already.

I am also going to be taking the pictures for my dearest friend Iris whom I’ve known since Kindergarten’s upcoming wedding. In May (no date set yet) I will be taking their engagement pictures probably some place in Boston. I will also be doing her wedding in July (no location yet either as far as I know) somewhere in Massachusetts and then possibly her wedding in IRELAND if all goes as planned!

I’m also thinking of a few more pet photoshoots this spring/summer because pets really are a passion of mine.

When I know more information I will post updates. I am excited because I want to keep learning more and pushing myself a little further. Thank you for all your inspiration and faith.

Day Seventy

Today is a big day. Today I have my very first meeting with a potential client. It’s hard to call this a client since this is someone I went to high school with and was in marching band with. She agreed to offer her family up to give me some practice with family photo sessions. I’m excited, although it may be a little while away before I do the actual session with her.

I also am planning to do an engagement photo session with one of my very oldest friends. I will probably do that in Boston, which will be very cool and a little scary since there will obviously be a lot of people around. Luckily she is loads of fun so I have no worries that they’ll give me a lot to work with.
