I spent a lot of time Saturday just taking pictures, for myself, and it felt great. Unfortunately the session I had set for Sunday had to be rescheduled because of rain, I guess this something I will have to get used to. Enjoy some pictures I took of my lake early on Saturday morning.

Icy Lake

I have lost my mojo lately. I have not been taking many pictures lately however I did get out this weekend and get some nice sunset shots. This is another old shot of mine I never did anything with.

I Love Compliments

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

At work we have the chance sometimes to show our work in a gallery and for the last couple years I’ve partaken in this event. Most recently I put this photo up in the gallery and got so many compliments it just blew me away.

One of the most wonderful compliments was from a manager at work. She left me a handwritten letter on my chair complimenting me on both my photo and my website (which I assume she looked up). In appreciation of this I decided to pick a photo and give it to her as a gift. I don’t know why, but I chose this one. This photo was actually taken across the street at work when Spring was coming to life.

Drowning Lily

I really wanted to get a shot of a water lily at my lake but I think I was too late, most of them are gone but also my lens doesn’t shoot far enough away for the kind of shot I want. I did find this lily though, drowing but beautiful still.

Docked

I used to get annoyed when people would give me weird looks for taking a picture of something that didn’t seem “picture worthy” but now I find it flattering. I think the whole point of photography is seeing things that other people don’t and capturing it in a way that it becomes so much more than just a rope on a dock.
